Zebra crossings come to life

Young Bolivians are donning Zebra suits to help people cross the dangerous roads of La Paz.

The scheme was set up by La Paz's municipal office as a means of helping pedestrians to cross streets safely and direct the flow of traffic.

The volunteer Zebras are mainly recovering drug addicts or those who once lived on the streets.

The project provides a home for the volunteers through the La Paz Foundation for Youth with Social problems.
