Air traffic controller Peter Nielsen was alone on duty on the night of the accident. Kaloyev later travelled to Switzerland. A Swiss judge said Kaloyev did not come to Switzerland to kill Nielsen but lost control of himself when Nielsen refused to apologise for the event after Kaloyev showed him pictures of his children.
